Garden Fresh

We planted corn this year and it actually grew! It was so exciting! Last year, some of our corn was eaten by deer and most of it died because we had a moderate to severe drought. Our zucchini also did very well this year. So, we have a bumper crop of these two delicious veggies. Dinner was vegetarian this night!
Needless to say, my children were not to thrilled. My husband and I loved the meal!

First was Mexican street corn. I have heard of this before, but never tried it. Wow! What a great recipe!!

Another great recipe! I did not have pepperoni so we just used the cheese. It came out wonderful. (again not a favorite with the kids)....

The Summer of You and Me by Denise Hunter

I don't like giving spoilers because I believe that everyone should read and judge a book for themself. This book is worth the time, believe me! Here's my review: Oh wow! This book is amazing! There are so many twists and turns. I thought I had it figured out and then it turns out that I didn't!! I enjoyed everything about this book. The setting of a picturesque small beach town is perfect! The cast of characters are relatable and easy to like. The little surprises that popped out here and there kept me interested and involved!!

Here's my review: This book was informative and interesting! I love it when authors take a piece of history and create an amazing fictional story. FDR is one of the presidents that I admire and this book showcased his leadership abilities and his dedication to the United States of America. Lizzie is an exceptional woman! She's an advocate, a confidant, and extremely loyal. She stayed with FDR literally until the end. We need more people in the world like Lizzie!
