Comfort Food part 2

Well, fall is officially upon us! This is my favorite time of year! I love going apple picking and pumpkin picking.



This past week, we went to get pumpkins and the place had a variety of squash. One of which I had never heard of! It was called Mashed Potato Squash. I was intrigued! My husband is doing low carb and this sounded perfect.

Another favorite comfort food of mine is meatloaf. No one else in my family likes it so I rarely make it. I made it to pair with this squash because nothing goes together better than meatloaf and mashed potatoes!

This was okay. It lacked a lot of flavor. I don't know what I would do differently, I'll have to experiment with it. My husband was happy because it was carb free!

This was pretty good. It didn't taste like mashed potatoes but it had a nice subtle squash taste. Again, I think I could doctor it up with sour cream and maybe cheese but my husband liked it, so another win!
All in all a win for the hubby, not so much for the kids...

Here's my review: This book was informative and interesting! I love it when authors take a piece of history and create an amazing fictional story. FDR is one of the presidents that I admire and this book showcased his leadership abilities and his dedication to the United States of America. Lizzie is an exceptional woman! She's an advocate, a confidant, and extremely loyal. She stayed with FDR literally until the end. We need more people in the world like Lizzie!

I don't like giving spoilers because I believe that everyone should read and judge a book for themself. This book is worth the time, believe me! Here's my review: Oh wow! This book is amazing! There are so many twists and turns. I thought I had it figured out and then it turns out that I didn't!! I enjoyed everything about this book. The setting of a picturesque small beach town is perfect! The cast of characters are relatable and easy to like. The little surprises that popped out here and there kept me interested and involved!!
