Coal Black Lies by Cindy K Sproles

An amazing book! Here's my review: Wow! What an extraordinary book! The setting in a coal mining town in Appalachia is both beautiful and desolate. Unfortunately, greed and bad management threaten to crush the souls and lives of the miners and their families. There are several gun fights, loss of life sadness. But, there's forgiveness, restoration, and renewal of faith in God! The characters are written brilliantly! So many of them touched my heart. Aughtie is my favorite! She is a ray of sunshine that brings hope and unconditional love to everyone she meets! Joshua's growth emotionally was inspirational. He suffered much heartache to the point that he wondered if life was worth living. God sent him a precious gift that reopened his heart to hope. I absolutely loved the sense of community that Joshua, Raney, Clive, and Cleda Mae pursue to ensure that the miners and their families prosper. It reminds me of the early church in Acts. The faith aspects throughout the book are encouraging. The gentle reminder to lean on the everlasting arms of God rings true. I was provided a complimentary copy of the book from Kregel Publications. Go See America by Matt Tory

Absolutely splendid! Wow! I love this book so much! Here's my review: This is a fantastic book! It's divided into 7 regions of the USA. I enjoyed reading and learning about every place that was included. Some of them I have been to and the rest are on my bucket list. The pictures are extraordinary! They made me want to hop on a plane and go on an adventure. I hope the author writes more books like these. I won a complimentary copy of the book from LibraryThing. There are so many twists and turns. I thought I had it figured out and then it turns out that I didn't!! I enjoyed everything about this book. Let us March On by Shara Moon

Here's my review: This book was informative and interesting! I love it when authors take a piece of history and create an amazing fictional story. FDR is one of the presidents that I admire and this book showcased his leadership abilities and his dedication to the United States of America. Lizzie is an exceptional woman! She's an advocate, a confidant, and extremely loyal. She stayed with FDR literally until the end. We need more people in the world like Lizzie!
