I'm on the launch team for this book! I just love Penny Zeller! She's just a wonderful author- the way she creates characters and a storyline amazes me!
Here's my review:
I really enjoyed reading this book! Penny Zeller is a master storyteller! I was immediately hooked from the first line! It was very interesting that a lot of the story revolved around a school for the deaf. There's some drama, a kidnapping, and painful reminders of the past. There's also the blessing of a loving family, new dreams, and a sweet romance!
The characters are relatable and easy to like! I liked Mae right from the beginning. Her servant heart and humbleness are inspiring! Landon's lack of relationship with his father touched my heart. The Lieutenant and Miss Greta made me chuckle! They have quite the personalities!
The importance of family is prevalent in the book. The Shepherdsons provide a home full of love, protection, and security. Their love and acceptance of others help Mae realize her blessings and, in turn, to bless others.
I was provided a complimentary copy of the book from the author. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Here's my review: This book was informative and interesting! I love it when authors take a piece of history and create an amazing fictional story. FDR is one of the presidents that I admire and this book showcased his leadership abilities and his dedication to the United States of America. Lizzie is an exceptional woman! She's an advocate, a confidant, and extremely loyal. She stayed with FDR literally until the end. We need more people in the world like Lizzie!
