Chasing the Horizon by Mary Connealy

Mary Connealy writes such amazing books! This is part of a series, and I recommend reading all of the books! Here's my review: Wow! What an amazing book! There's a daring escape, friendships formed, and mental and physical abuse. There's also the grit and determination of a group of pioneers! Beth is wonderful! She risks everything to save her mother. Their adventures are sometimes scary, but they work together as a team. I liked Jake right from the start. He's generous with his time and his skills. He's also compassionate and a good listener. I really enjoyed the imagery! I could picture the wagon train in my mind. Hidden Canyon is definitely a place I'd like to visit! I look forward to the next book in the series!

Here's my review: This book was informative and interesting! I love it when authors take a piece of history and create an amazing fictional story. FDR is one of the presidents that I admire and this book showcased his leadership abilities and his dedication to the United States of America. Lizzie is an exceptional woman! She's an advocate, a confidant, and extremely loyal. She stayed with FDR literally until the end. We need more people in the world like Lizzie!

The Summer of You and Me by Denise Hunter

I don't like giving spoilers because I believe that everyone should read and judge a book for themself. This book is worth the time, believe me! Here's my review: Oh wow! This book is amazing! There are so many twists and turns. I thought I had it figured out and then it turns out that I didn't!! I enjoyed everything about this book. The setting of a picturesque small beach town is perfect! The cast of characters are relatable and easy to like. The little surprises that popped out here and there kept me interested and involved!!
