I saw that this book was available to read on Netgalley without a request so I gave it a try. It's very eye opening. I hope that when people read it, they read it with an open heart and mind. Yes, some of the things are hard to read about but it's real life and a change is needed. Here's my review:
An honest and straightforward book regarding white Christianity. The author lays it all out there to open the eyes and hearts to the hypocrisies infiltrating the American church. As per the book description, I relate as a progressive white ally seeking understanding of what went wrong. This is a book that everyone who desires to see a change not just for our generation but for the next should read.
I was provided a complimentary copy of the book from Westminster John Knox Press via Netgalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Here's my review: This book was informative and interesting! I love it when authors take a piece of history and create an amazing fictional story. FDR is one of the presidents that I admire and this book showcased his leadership abilities and his dedication to the United States of America. Lizzie is an exceptional woman! She's an advocate, a confidant, and extremely loyal. She stayed with FDR literally until the end. We need more people in the world like Lizzie!
