The Reluctant Pioneer by Julie McDonald Zander

I saw that this book was available on Netgalley and it intrigued me! I'm so happy that I read it. Here's my review: Wow! This book is amazing! The Oregon Trail is a part of history that has always interested me! The author's writing brings to life the joys and trials that the pioneers faced. The characters are written brilliantly! Matilda is someone that I'd like to emulate. She's a wonderful wife, mother, and friend. Her faith sustains her through many trials and harrowing circumstances. Nicholas is such a good father and provider. Captain Magone is another favorite. He's a strong leader, compassionate and caring. I'm glad that the author, Julie McDonald Zander, did not shy away from writing about the difficulties that the pioneers faced. Lives were lost, injuries happened, and starvation was a constant fear. But, there were the joys of new life to be celebrated, friendships formed, and the hope for a better future. I look forward to reading more books by this author! Here's my review: This book was informative and interesting! I love it when authors take a piece of history and create an amazing fictional story. FDR is one of the presidents that I admire and this book showcased his leadership abilities and his dedication to the United States of America. Lizzie is an exceptional woman! She's an advocate, a confidant, and extremely loyal. She stayed with FDR literally until the end. We need more people in the world like Lizzie!

Absolutely splendid! Wow! I love this book so much! Here's my review: This is a fantastic book! It's divided into 7 regions of the USA. I enjoyed reading and learning about every place that was included. Some of them I have been to and the rest are on my bucket list. The pictures are extraordinary! They made me want to hop on a plane and go on an adventure. I hope the author writes more books like these. I won a complimentary copy of the book from LibraryThing. The Summer of You and Me by Denise Hunter

I don't like giving spoilers because I believe that everyone should read and judge a book for themself. This book is worth the time, believe me! Here's my review: Oh wow! This book is amazing! There are so many twists and turns. I thought I had it figured out and then it turns out that I didn't!! I enjoyed everything about this book. The setting of a picturesque small beach town is perfect! The cast of characters are relatable and easy to like. The little surprises that popped out here and there kept me interested and involved!!
