As you all know, I LOVE Amish fiction! This is a great book! Here's my review:
I really enjoyed reading this book! There's nothing I like more than an Amish fiction story! It has drama, humor, more drama, and more humor!
The cast of characters is written brilliantly! Menno, sweet, handsome, not too bright, man. I spent half of the story feeling bad for him and the other half wanting to shake him. The Yoder sisters are amazing! Ada is my favorite. She's a take charge, tell it like it is woman. All of the children are adorable. Pepper is a protector and a true friend!
Faith in God is prevalent throughout the book. I liked how Menno would quote scriptures and how he found his strength in God's word.
My absolute favorite parts of the book were when they talked about pies! I'll definitely have to make a fry pie very soon!
Here's my review: This book was informative and interesting! I love it when authors take a piece of history and create an amazing fictional story. FDR is one of the presidents that I admire and this book showcased his leadership abilities and his dedication to the United States of America. Lizzie is an exceptional woman! She's an advocate, a confidant, and extremely loyal. She stayed with FDR literally until the end. We need more people in the world like Lizzie!
