As I was looking for my next book to read, this one popped out at me. I don't usually read this genre. Time travel is not really my thing, but this book was so well written that I just got swept right up! Here's my review:
Wow! This book is not at all what I expected! It took me on a wild adventure full of intrigue, mystery, time travel, and treasure. The treasure sought was not the treasure found.
Asher is a complicated character. His whole life is in chaos. He's lost and lonely. He has walked away from his family and his faith. He teams up with an eccentric man named Winston to find gold. Winston is not a nice person even though it seems that he is. He cares about himself more than anyone else. His life is literally in his nurse Natalia's hands.
Asher gets sidetracked on his quest in Jerusalem. He's subject to beatings, lies, deception, and more. He also crosses paths with none other than Jesus the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world. Asher is an atheist, he does not need a savior. In an interesting twist of fate, Asher finds himself broken and in need of forgiveness. Jesus speaks words of compassion to him. At this point, I was overwhelmed by the events of the book, so I'll stop here. I sincerely hope that this book is read by many people because the message is one that has stood the test of time. John 3:16.
I was provided a complimentary copy of the book from R-Squared Productions, LLC through Interviews and Reviews. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
There's a lack of Christian books available to review on Library Thing so this is one that I chose to win. It's pretty explicit in some areas, some of it actually made me blush. Here's my review: I found this book to be interesting and informative! This book outlines helpful information for women whose sexual drive is higher than their husbands. The author provides hope, advice, and even scriptures to help women as they walk this path. I found a lot of wisdom and practical ways to apply this information in my own life. I won this book from Baker Books via LibraryThing!
