Christmas at Promise Lodge by Charlotte Hubbard

I reviewed this book way back in 2016, so I wasn't so great at posting reviews. I'll have to re-read this book and write a review worthy of the book. Here's my review: This was a great book! I love everything about Promise Lodge! The characters are amazing- they're like members of my family! This is a book that I could read over and over!

Mary's Calico Hope by Anne Blackburne

I knew that I would like this book and I DID! Here's my review: I really enjoyed this story in its entirety! Amish fiction is my absolute favorite, and this book is a real gem. It has themes of faith and hope. There's also a love story that seems hopeless, but God had other plans. Mary is amazing! She doesn't let her disability define her. She does the best that she can, one day at a time. Reuben is the epitome of a healer. He gave up a lot to be a doctor, and it's his passion. Bishop Troyer is my favorite! His wisdom and compassion help make Mary and Reuben's love possible. Honorable mention to the cat, Hope! I love how she wraps up the book! My favorite parts are when the characters realize their need for God and pray to Him for guidance. "I think what Gott actually places in our path are honest friends who light a fire under us when we're hesitating to go where we need to go." Mary puts her future in God's hands and trusts that He will plac

Until We All Share Joy by Heather Wood

This is a wonderful novella! I was totally captivated by the story in its entirety. The characters are relatable and easy to like. Titan is my favorite! His compassion and gentleman-like ways are endearing. He grows so much during the book and he also helps others grow. Grandfather Gates is wonderful! He appears gruff and grouchy but he has a heart of gold. This book helped me to remember how blessed I am to have a family that loves me and to cherish every moment with them. I can't wait to read the rest of the books in the series!

A is for Amish by Shelley Shepard Gray

I've never read a book by Shelley that I didn't like. This one is awesome! Here's my review: Another heartwarming Amish book by Shelley Shepard Gray! I'm super excited about this series! It's original and full of surprises! I enjoyed getting to know the characters! The four siblings are special people. They all long for the acceptance and simplicity of their childhood. Is becoming Amish the answer? Maybe.. Kelsey is my favorite! She's kind, compassionate, and genuine. Her love story made me happy! As always, faith in God is prevalent throughout the book. I really liked the young preacher Richard and his wisdom.

Until We All Find Home by Heather Wood

I've had these book sitting in my Amazon kindle and I finally got around to reading them. I'm so glad that I did! Here's my review: Wow! This book amazed me. It follows the lives of three brothers and their sister who lost contact with each other years ago. There are also some historical events like the Civil War and President Lincoln being shot. There are some extremely difficult times, accidents, drunkenness and illness. There's also hope, several people realizing their need for God and many romances! The characters are written brilliantly! Each one touched my heart in different ways. I felt connected to them and genuinely cared about their well-being. Elisan is my favorite. She's nurturing and compassionate. She's also not afraid to speak her mind! There is a lot of talk about God, faith and scripture. This was encouraging to me. I was surprised by the few swear words but they did fit with the characters at the particular moment. I was so happy when Jed

Searching for You by Jody Hedlund

I enjoyed reading this book! It piqued my interest just a few paragraphs in. I think it would have been better for me to have read the first two books in the series instead ofstartingwith the third. I was a little lost with the characters' background stories. Euphemia Duff was by far my favorite character. She's honest, forthright, and giving. She isn't afraid to credit the Lord for forgiving her sins. "The good Lord never treats us as our sins deserve." Sophie and Reinhold deserve credit for maturing and trying to change bad habits. The only parts that made me uncomfortable were the "sexual" situations. There was no descriptive sex but there was a lot of passionate kissing and touching. It was a little over the top for Christian fiction. I will read the other books because I'm curious about Sophie's sisters. I guess I was one of the few who thought it was overally sexual. Oh well. We all have opinions.

Return to the Wilderness by Andrea Byrd

I've had the privilege to be on some of Andrea Byrd's launch teams. Her books are SO good! Here's my review: Another fantastic book by Andrea Byrd! I've enjoyed the series based in Kentucky 1784. I found it interesting that Muireall is near sighted. It certainly put limits in place, but she never let it hold her back. Muireall's compassionate heart is genuine. She cares for others with her whole being. John's story of his past broke my heart. He is a steadfast man, a protector, and loyal. I have 2 favorite episodes that occurred. 1- when Muireall shoots a bad guy in the toe! 2- when Muireall and her sister Margaret reunite! I've enjoyed every one of the books from this series! I can't wait to read the next one! I was provided a complimentary copy of the book from the author. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Of Gold and Shadows by Michelle Griep

This book is perfect timing for October/ spooky stories. Here's my review: Wow! A Gothic story filled with murder, mayhem, plot twists, and treasure! I find the study of artifacts very intriguing, especially ancient Egyptian artifacts. What an amazing cast of characters! Ami is extraordinary! She's passionate about becoming an Egyptologist. She's so passionate that she often ends up in precarious situations. Edmund, pitter patter goes my heart. A protector, compassionate, caring, and loyal. I will admit that I felt the teeniest bit of sympathy for Brudge. He's a reminder that bad choices can have severe consequences. The love story is very sweet and romantic! I especially enjoyed the poetry writing! I respect how Michelle Griep handled faith and ancient religions. The reminder that God is the all-powerful One hits the nail on the head. I was provided a complimentary copy of the book from Bethany House Publishers via Netgalley. All thoughts and opinions are my ow

Serenity's Secret by Lisa Jones Baker

Yes, another Amish book!! Here's my review: I really enjoyed reading this book! Amish fiction is my favorite genre, and Lisa Jones Baker is becoming a favorite author! There's intrigue, a mystery, and a friend's to lovers romance! The mystery really kept me guessing until the end. There are familiar characters from the previous books. The characters are well developed and easy to like! I enjoy reading about the friendship of Trini, Abby, and Serenity. Their support and love for each other is comforting. My favorite character, though, has to be Angel the horse! His personality is epic, and his love for Serenity is apparent to everyone! I hope a story for Abby is coming soon! I certainly am looking forward to reading more books by this author! I was provided a complimentary copy of the book from Barbour Publishing via NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Into the Sunset by Mary Connealy

Mary Connealy always delivers an amazing book! Here's my review: What an amazing conclusion to "A Western Light " series! I recommend reading the other books first, but Mary Connealy's exceptional writing provides a lot of background. So much happens in this book! There's revenge, murder, kidnapping, and more. There's also a few sweet love stories! Some of the characters in this book are familiar, and some are new. Ginny absolutely amazes me. Her strength in horrible circumstances is commendable. Dakota is a hunk! He's also a protector, compassionate, and caring. Maeve acted like a spoiled child in the beginning, but she grew into a dependable and caring woman. Judge Nolte is my favorite! She's a no-nonsense, dependable, and knowledgeable woman. I was extremely happy when the "bad" guys got what they deserved. It did make me sad that Thaddeus and Ezra didn't have a change of heart. Faith in God is prevalent throughout the book. Many

The Amish Quiltmakers Uninvited Guest by Jennifer Beckstrand

As you all know, I LOVE Amish fiction! This is a great book! Here's my review: I really enjoyed reading this book! There's nothing I like more than an Amish fiction story! It has drama, humor, more drama, and more humor! The cast of characters is written brilliantly! Menno, sweet, handsome, not too bright, man. I spent half of the story feeling bad for him and the other half wanting to shake him. The Yoder sisters are amazing! Ada is my favorite. She's a take charge, tell it like it is woman. All of the children are adorable. Pepper is a protector and a true friend! Faith in God is prevalent throughout the book. I liked how Menno would quote scriptures and how he found his strength in God's word. My absolute favorite parts of the book were when they talked about pies! I'll definitely have to make a fry pie very soon!

Unexpected Witness by Penny Zeller

Penny Zeller is a must-read author for me! As soon as her books come out, I have to read them. She's usually writes historical romance but she's branching out into suspense. She knocked it out of the park! Here's my review: Wow! This is an amazing book! I was immediately drawn into the story. The suspense was thrilling. I was very surprised at who the perpetrators were. The characters are written brilliantly! I liked all of them (except for the bad guys). The Brenneman family works well together. Rourke is a protector and provider. Aileen is nurturing and sweet. Xander is adorable! Mila is incredible! Despite her traumatic childhood, she is compassionate and kind. Her survival skills deserve merit. As always, faith in God is prevalent throughout the book. I liked how Mila and Rourke connected through their faith. I was provided a complimentary copy of the book from the author. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
