The Summer of You and Me by Denise Hunter

I don't like giving spoilers because I believe that everyone should read and judge a book for themself. This book is worth the time, believe me! Here's my review: Oh wow! This book is amazing! There are so many twists and turns. I thought I had it figured out and then it turns out that I didn't!! I enjoyed everything about this book. The setting of a picturesque small beach town is perfect! The cast of characters are relatable and easy to like. The little surprises that popped out here and there kept me interested and involved!!

More Valuable Than Gold by Rodney Ray

As I was looking for my next book to read, this one popped out at me. I don't usually read this genre. Time travel is not really my thing, but this book was so well written that I just got swept right up! Here's my review: Wow! This book is not at all what I expected! It took me on a wild adventure full of intrigue, mystery, time travel, and treasure. The treasure sought was not the treasure found. Asher is a complicated character. His whole life is in chaos. He's lost and lonely. He has walked away from his family and his faith. He teams up with an eccentric man named Winston to find gold. Winston is not a nice person even though it seems that he is. He cares about himself more than anyone else. His life is literally in his nurse Natalia's hands. Asher gets sidetracked on his quest in Jerusalem. He's subject to beatings, lies, deception, and more. He also crosses paths with none other than Jesus the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world. Asher is a...

These Blue Mountains by Sarah Loudin Thomas

Every once in a while a book comes along that not only makes you think, but touches your heart. This is the book that did that for me. Here's my review: Wow! This is a fantastic book! It has everything that I love about the historical fiction genre. I never knew that there were internment camps for German aliens. I also enjoyed the imagery in the book. I've seen the Blue Ridge Mountains and they are a sight to behold! Hedda is an amazing woman! She's selfless, loving and compassionate. Lotte and Hedda have always wondered what happened to Fritz (son/fiancé). A disturbing photograph has possible answers. Hedda travels from Germany to North Carolina determined to put the past to rest. There she finds answers, hope, and love. Garland is a man with many layers. He has secrets from his past that haunt him. As his path crosses with Hedda's he realizes that the past can't stay buried. Faith in God is mentioned throughout the book. Fritz hid in Bethania and there he ...

365 Prophetic Revelations from the Hebrew Calendar by Candice Smithyman

Here's my review: This was an interesting book to read. I had little knowledge regarding the power, blessing, and abundance of aligning with God's times and seasons. I look forward to implementing some of the ideas presented in this book. There are some areas of this book that I don't agree with. I guess that's true with any book. I would recommend reading for yourself and making up your own mind.

The Peacemaker by Wanda Brunstetter

If you know me, you know that Wanda is one of my favorite authors! I think she's actually one of the first author's that I started buying every book that she writes! Here's my review: I enjoyed this book! It's the 2nd book in the series and I highly recommend reading the 1st one. Ada is a wonderful character! She loves her family and her community. Her heart has always loved Ephraim but she's hesitant to get close to him because of Rosa's disappearance. Ephraim is wunderbaar! He's loyal, compassionate and trustworthy. I was so happy that he was able to return to his passion for working at the harness shop. Susan, I'm sad to say, I still don't like or trust. There's quite a bit of drama including health issues, arson and mysterious phone calls. I'm excited to read the next book!!

A Storm of Witchcraft by Emerson W Baker

I found out about this book by reading the author's note in a book by Gabrielle Meyer called For A Lifetime. The Salem Witch trials have always piqued my interest. It's a time period that sometimes I can't even believe happened, almost like the Holocaust. Here's my review: This is the exact kind of historical book that I enjoy reading! Yes, there are tons of facts. Yes, it gets a little boring. That's history folks. What I like about Emerson's approach is that he made me feel connected to the people accused of witchcraft. He also delves into possible reasons for the possession; poverty, religious differences, land squabbles, mental illnesses, and even people who lied and pretended to be possessed. The lists at the end touched my heart. Just seeing the names of those accused and knowing that a lot of them lost their lives. I intend to read more books about this subject as it has always interested me. My favorite book as an adolescent was "The Witch of ...

The Last Conclave by Glenn Cooper

Trigger warnings: there are multiple mentions of sexual abuse. There's also a few murders. Here's my review: Fantastic! I enjoyed reading this book! The relevance of what has recently happened with the Pope passing away intrigues me. The Cathar religion is interesting too. I admire Sabine and Elisabetta equally. They are both strong women with great leadership qualities. Cal is amazing and I'm glad that he found his love. I liked the author's writing style and I'll be reading more books by him. I was provided a complimentary copy of the book from NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

With All Her Heart by Kelly Irvin

This book really touched my heart. I follow Kelly Irvin on Facebook and Instagram and she's so inspirational. She herself deals with a physical disability. Her smile is dazzling! Here's my review: I enjoyed reading this book! Amish fiction always speaks to my heart! The community that Bonnie and Elijah are a part of is supportive and close-knit! Bonnie is AMAZING! She's running her own business despite her physical disability. She can be prickly about how people view her but Elijah helps her to see past her disability. Elijah is wonderful! I love that he's shy and compassionate. The theme of believing in yourself is prevalent throughout the book. So is trusting God and His plan. I was encouraged by both of these themes!

The Journey of a Lifetime by Jodi Allen Brice

I received an email from this author with an ARC so I downloaded it and read it! I'm so glad that I did! Here's my review: I enjoyed reading this book! I especially liked that the reader was privy to Walker's point of view! The whole idea of going on a road trip with your furry best friend sounds like a wonderful idea! Maggie is a great character! She's strong, determined and compassionate. Her willingness to help Cindy is admirable! Her trust and kindness paid off when Cindy was reunited with her estranged family. Walker is the true star of the book! He's patient, kind and empathetic. Abuse in a relationship is brought up but nothing specific is talked about. Cheating is also brought up with minimal information. Restoration of families happens and trust is established for the future! I was provided a complimentary copy of the book from the author. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Fire Mountain by Dana Mentink

I love it when I win a book from LibraryThing! This book is fantastic! Here's my review: This is a fantastic book filled with suspense and intrigue! The setting is Mount Ember, a volcano in the throes of explosion. Lives are lost, relationships are formed and heroes emerge. Kit is AMAZING! She's determined, strong and smart. Although she wrestles with her past, she is compassionate and protective. Cullen is also AMAZING! He's a protector, brave and strong. His past also haunts him but Kit and Tot soften his heart! Tater Tot is adorable! She's blessed to have Kit and Cullen as her rescuers. One issue that's brought up is sex trafficking. I'll admit that I was happy when Simon and Nico got what they deserved. Thank God for police officers, detectives, and other workers who help those caught up in trafficking. I won a complimentary copy of this book from LibraryThing via Netgalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

The Third Gilmore Girl by Kelly Bishop

Gilmore Girl fans rejoice! This is a must read! Emily is my favorite character on GG. It was amazing to read about Kelly's life; her childhood to present. I especially enjoyed the pictures at the end of the book. Memoirs are a favorite of mine because I already love the character and now I know more about her personal life; her failures and achievements! *** there is mention of an abortion, drug abuse and a gamlbing addiction.

Somewhere Toward Freedom by Bennett Parten

I was going to write a big review but I really think that people should just read this book. It's important to remember our past. Here's my review: This was an educational masterpiece! I am very interested in history of all time periods but this time period really piques my curiosity. The whole sadness of war and slavery touches my very soul. I encourage everyone to read this book!

All the Water in the World by Eiren Caffall

Unfortunately, I didn't finish this book. I think it would be better as a movie or TV show. Here's my review: DNF. I tried several times to get into this book but it just wasn't happening. It's a great premise but just not for me.

Empresses of Seventh Avenue by Nancy MacDonell

This in an interesting book! I found it fascinating to learn all about how New York became the fashion leader during the World War II. It's intriguing to me that contrary to Parisienne models, the American ones were athletic, and cheerful good health! My only wish is that there had been pictures because I love pictures!! This book would make a great movie! I'd love to see the wardrobe that would be created!

Thanksgiving Blessing by Marta Perry

I always enjoy a book written by Marta Perry! She creates such wonderful stories with characters that touch my heart! Here's my review: I loved this book so much! Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday so a book revolving around Thanksgiving made my heart sing! I enjoy Marta Perry's writing and how she brings her characters to life! I can honestly say that I liked all of the characters! Their personalities engaged me and I genuinely cared about their lives. Rebecca is AMAZING! She's a single mother to twins: James and Joanna. I like her parenting style. She's a great mother but not a helicopter mother. Her children are her joy but she also loves the orchard that her grandfather left her to take care of. Grossmammi is adorable! She's always ready to help and to lend an ear. Nathan is a little standoffish. Once his past is revealed, his gruff nature actually is covering up a warm and tender heart. Peter touched my heart the most. His father has passed away, his moth...
